Also remember that if you do choose a sheer fabric and need it to allow in less light this is possible. You can purchase something called a 'darkening liner'. This does exactly what it says. It lines the fabric adding a darkening layer which allows less light to get through. This is very helpful if you absolutely wish to have a sheer fabric but need it in the bedroom!
2. The actual shade. This might seem obvious, but it's funny how many people install shades and then never use them, they always revert back to the artificial light in the home. Like I said, if this is planned, then there is no issue with doing it this way, but you should at least try to open the shades every once in a while, you may surprise yourself at the brightness of the room. Or you may think that it is a great look for a day party or something similar.
