Video Games Tester - 5 Rejection Factors

There are many explanations why you might not be able to become a video game beta tester. Some of these reasons are a bit odd, while others are completely reasonable. That said, if you need to know what might be keeping you OUT of the world of paid beta game testing, just look below.

Reasons You Might Be Denied For Beta Testing Jobs...

- You don't have a minimum of 5 years gaming experience. In all seriousness, it's not necessary to be a gaming guru who has mastered every video game in existence. However, you do need to have fundamental knowledge of the gaming industry and how game development works. More experience and knowledge you have, the better off you'll be.

- You aren't the right age. Due to a plethora of reasons -- the top of which being child labor laws -- game testers need to be 18 years of age or older. Some game developers can work around this "dilemma" and make exceptions for certain individuals, but it is a rare thing. Don't get your hopes up.

- You don't have a next-gen system and/or a high-end PC. Having both is better, but either will do. If you're not current with gaming technology, you will not stand a chance.

- You do not have a video game beta testing resume. No resume, no consideration of any kind, period. Being a video game tester means having to do actual work which MUST be taken seriously. This isn't a hobby you do on the weekends.

- You have weak grammar skills. Video game testers fill out a lot of reports & forms that are used by game coders to repair & improve video games. If the reports aren't properly detailed and easily understood, the programmers can't do their job. If a programmer is unable to do his job, it means the tester has failed to do his.

You now understand exactly what obstacles are blocking your way as well as what you need to do to clear them away. As soon as they've been removed, the road to professional beta game testing testing will await you!
